The Biggest Secret
‘What’s your biggest secret? How does it look like? How do you keep it? Can you find a way to make it visible to others?’
In the seminar The Biggest Secret of photographer Jaap Scheeren, held at the University of Arts and Design, these questions were used as a starting point to dive into the subject matter of secrets. Do we fear showing our secrets? And how can designers manifest something in an image, that is hidden to some and revealed to others?
For the project a series of cinematographs were created, displaying secrets of seniors in a comical but truthful way.
A publication was created, collecting all works from the seminar. Consistent with the secret theme of the seminar, the design of the publication plays with the idea of ‘What is hidden?/What is revealed?’, using black typography on transparent pages.
