The Keystone archive, located in Zurich, files images, text, and video. Every year the archived media is reduced to only keep key images for every event. It’s only plausible, that these images may in some cases not picture people, wanting to be photographed or were present at these events voluntarily. Examples include police detentions, persecutions, or trials.
The project Keystone 2720395847 addresses these themes. Based on a photograph of a graffiti sprayer being on trial, 3D sculptures were made, mocking the idea of the image being immortalized by the archive.
A publication in form of a fanfold makes the experience of the sculptures available in a two-dimensional space.
