Toccarion

Toccarion game design

The Toccarion is a center for music experience geared towards children between the age of five and twelve in Baden-Baden, Germany.

To start the experience even before entering its halls, a motion control video game for the display in front of the center has been created, using the motion technology of the Microsoft Kinect. A floating white ball morphs into various instruments whenever a person walks in the detection range of the display. This instrument can then be controlled by the player through movement. Multiple players can interact with the display at once, forming an orchestra.

The game was first presented at the annual exhibition of the Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design.
